Quote
“As an organization dedicated to removing the financial barriers that stand between a cancer patient and their treatment, Family Reach recognizes that systemic racism in the United States directly influences the financial health of Black cancer patients and caregivers. Structural financial barriers leave Black cancer patients facing poor access to cancer screenings, insurance coverage, treatment and care – ultimately decreasing the chance of survival. Among cancer patients, Black women are the most likely to decline or defer treatment due to cost. Family Reach commits to understanding and meeting the unique financial needs faced by Black cancer patients and caregivers through our programs, ensuring every patient a fair shot to beat cancer.”
