At age 30, Alane Davis was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. She initially underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and had a recurrence of her breast cancer a few years later. For the past five years she has worked to bring awareness to the women of Northern Minnesota and to raise funds to create and distribute Newly Diagnosed Resource Kits to every young woman diagnosed with breast cancer in the Duluth area. She helps host monthly support meetings, social events and educational programs that are all designed to educate young women, the medical community, and the general public that “Young Women Can and Do Get Breast Cancer.  Alane currently resides in Duluth, Minn., with her husband and two children.
